Otoplasty is a cosmetic procedure that changes the appearance of the ears. The procedure can take many forms, such as bringing the ears closer to the head, reducing the size of the ears and / or lobes, or reshaping various bends in the cartilage.

The Surgery

The procedure is performed relatively quickly under local anesthesia. Incisions made behind the ears allow your surgeon to reshape the internal cartilage in order to improve the structure. The volume of the ear lobes which may have increased with age, can be adjusted as well. A compressive bandage is usually worn for four or five days after the procedure.
